From the Joanna Gaines modern farmhouse to the trendy Bohemian look and everything in between, interior design styles certainly rise and fall in popularity.

Joybird, a company specializing in sofas and other home decor, compiled the most popular of these interior design styles in 2018 by state. Using Google Trends data, they examined the search popularity for 14 of the biggest styles in each state—traditional, mid-century modern, art deco, transitional, shabby chic, industrial, contemporary, western, modern farmhouse, Bohemian, Victorian, coastal, vintage, and rustic.

Popular Interior Design Styles

While Victorian and Bohemian were the most popular overall, Contemporary was actually the top searched style in Virginia. As for the number 2 most searched style in Virginia, Victorian took that slot, while Bohemian took the number 3 spot in our state.
